Community

We are the first coliving of La Rioja, Spain, being perfectly located to discover a global wine region, the birthplace of the Spanish language, the Camino, and a hidden gem of rural landscapes.

We host from all around the world in a very second-family-away style, offering stays of at least one month to get to know everyone and to allow for a proper balance between work schedules, leisure, learning, and relaxation.

The people who come to the Coliving include teleworkers, artists, freelancers, students, and researchers. We like to build an interdisciplinary and international community where we can get to know different languages, music, cuisine, and knowledge. So far, in about one year of experience, we have hosted more than 20 nationalities, and we work to get more on our list.

During your residence, you will be able to get to know the heritage of La Rioja, meet and exchange experiences with local people, improve your productivity and quality of life, and even fall in love with a territory in which some have decided to stay and live forever. Our alumnee community leaves a powerful memory here and keeps returning every time they pass around.

ENJOY

Everyday shared dinners, on which one coliver is to cook for the rest to discover new cuisines.

The experience of visiting a genuine side of Spain is only available for those brave enough to get inland.

4 seasons, but with 2700 hours of sun per year, allowing 4 different landscapes while having mild temperatures all year around.

A community that is into personal development and wellness in the rural world.

Location

C. Mayor (La Rioja), Sojuela
The exact location is provided after the booking is confirmed.

La Rioja

Sojuela is a charming village in the north of Spain that combines tranquil village life with the beauty of the surrounding nature. With less than 100 inhabitants, Sojuela is a small, close-knit community where everyone knows each other and a strong sense of family prevails.

The village offers an abundance of outdoor activities, including hiking trails that offer stunning views of the surrounding mountains, forests, and vineyards. Regardless of the season, a hike in the area is always a rewarding experience. You can also go mushroom picking (in season) or enjoy butterfly expeditions, as Sojuela is home to over 50% of all Spanish butterfly species and over 80% of the La Rioja region.

Beyond outdoor activities, Sojuela offers a range of events and activities organized by the community, with seniors often leading the preparations and everyone invited to participate. From painting flowerpots to playing bingo, the community events bring people of all ages together.

If you're looking to explore beyond Sojuela, there are plenty of nearby villages to visit, including Briones, one of the most beautiful villages in Spain, which can be organized as a group trip. Also, don't miss the opportunity to visit the capital, where you can indulge in delicious food and wine, explore the historical center or simply take in the vibrant Spanish culture.

However, the best way to move around is to use our village blablacar system. People are very nice and will happily give you a lift if needed.
  • Logroño is the closest city (only 30 minutes by bus and 15 by car). We do not have a real airport in Logroño, but the closest airport to our city is 2 hours away, with Bilbao, Vitoria, or Zaragoza as handy options.
